the 1968 piece curated by the museum of contemporary art chicago "art by telephone," in which artists (sol lewitt, bruce nauman, john baldessari, joseph kosuth, jan dibbets, hans haacke) called the museum staff and described their pieces via telephone. the recording was never exhibited at the museum in any sense, but the recording can be heard at network research.
